This is my first "after Xmas" time for selling and my team leader warned me that sales would be poor because people don't have money for a few weeks after Xmas, or they're going on holiday. Here in New Zealand we are starting our summer school holidays and they go through till the end of January so lots of families go on their annual holiday during this time. So I came up with the idea of making up some vouchers on the computer for my best customers - limited the number to 20. The voucher states that the recipient has been such a good customer in 1998 that they deserve a reward and the voucher entitles them to choose ONE item from either brochure 2 or 3 (our current brochures) that they can purchase for half the price shown. This means I'll be carrying some of the cost of that item. These were delivered the day before yesterday and I've had 4 responses back already. Not only have these customers chosen their item (expensive ones of course!) but they've bought additional products as well, giving me a little profit from the deal and helping me get closer to the PC.
